• I want to be independent but I need some help and support. Can I have both?

    Yes, you can! We understand that nursing homes and aged care facilities can make you feel powerless, having to follow rules and schedules you don’t like or agree with. Our experienced home caregivers are trained to acknowledge and respect your freedom and independence, while at the same time providing you with the safety, companionship, and emotional support you need.

  • What is your after hours process?

    We have a 24/7 phone line. You will never have to worry about office hours, call and we will answer.

  • How soon can you respond to an enquiry?

    Phone calls are answered promptly. Web inquiries are responded to within 1 hour.

  • Will I have the same carer?
    • We ensure our clients receive consistency of caregivers. We believe it is important for the caregiver-client relationship to be established and nurtured through consistency, respect and understanding.
    • We only ever use two caregivers per client and that is to cover absences such as illness or holiday leave. We always work with clients to find caregivers that matches their personality, interests and care requirements.
  • I don’t have a Home Care Package. Can I still arrange Home Care services?

    Yes the same services as Home Care Packages are available for clients who wish to fund it privately.

  • How Can I transfer my Home Care Package to Home Care Assistance?

    Step 1: Call Home Care Assistance Brisbane South on 07 3172 5047, our Care Managers will make an appointment with you for the initial meeting to set-up care services.

    Step 2: Call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 and ask them to re-activate your Home Care Package. Once you have the re-activated code give us a ring to retrieve the code on our end.

    Step 3: Notify your existing provider of cessation date in writing, most providers require 14 days of notice.

    Step 4: We are ready to start services when you are.

  • Can I top-up Home Care Package with private pay?

    Absolutely, if you or your loved one requires more services than home care packages cover, give us a call and one of Care Managers will be happy to assist.

  • How many hours can I get from a home care package?
    • Level 1: 2.5 hours per week
    • Level 2: 5 hours per week
    • Level 3: 11 hours per week
    • Level 4: 17 hours per week

    The above calculation is based on Monday to Friday.

  • What training have your caregivers done?

    As a minimum, all our caregivers hold a minimum of Certificate III Aged Care (or Home and Community Care).  A 6-12 month course and which covers all aspects of caring for people in their homes. Home Care Assistance also runs a comprehensive induction, education and staff development programs.

  • How do you ensure your staff are professional?

    Your peace of mind is crucial to us, so all staff undergo a face-to-face interview, complete reference check, qualification check and police check. We employ only the very best staff, which allows us to provide excellent service. We have also developed an innovative and cutting edge training and education program to ensure that our staff, and the services they provide, continue to exceed your expectations.
